I can't tell you how giddy (&nervous) I get when I get request for surprise proposals... I mean, come on... maybe the most romantic thing (&toughest) thing in the world to shoot. Toreyan emailed me about a month before to arrange me to capture him proposing to Robyn while on a family trip with her family celebrating her parents 35 anniversary. They had what they she thought was just a "family dinner" night on the mountain at Cafe' Kandahar. Little did she know that with her chocolate dessert, she was going to be getting a ring... and a proposal to wed.
The Ring--- the ring was her WON by her great grandfather in a poker game and gave it to her grandfather so he could propose to her grandmother. AMAZING.
Toreyan then got this ring from her parents and proposed after the "family dinner". "It was definitely a surprise for Robyn. Her face lit up when our waiter brought out a jewelry box on her desert plate which gave me all the reassurance I could ask for. Next thing you knew, I was down on one knee and asking my college sweetheart to marry me. So lucky she said yes!" Toreyan said.
As soon as she said yes, and he said his witty, sweet and kind words, I swept them away to get some engagement photos with the most beautiful sunset. What a night it was!
I loved capturing the excitement, nerves, love and joy of this proposal. I wish you two all the LOVE and chocolate desserts in your lifetime together!
